NOTO Live Kiwanis Pet Parade Registration

GUIDELINES: 1. Children are to be 6th grade and younger. (Parents are encouraged to accompany their child(ren) in the parade. 2. Pets are to be kept on a leash or in a cage. Wagons may be used. 3. You are welcome to carry a banner with your child, group or pet’s name. 4. No solicitation of any kind is permitted. 5. All messages and attire must be in good taste. Inappropriate attire or messages will not be allowed. The determination of inappropriateness is at the sole discretion of Kiwanis Club Officers or Parade Chair. 6. Distribution of anything (giveaways, freebies, flyers, etc.) before, during and after the parade is prohibited. 7. No sale of any product is allowed. 8. Please arrive between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on the day of the parade to check in at registration and have a parent or guardian sign the waiver. The Parade assembly will start at 9:00 and parade commences at 9:30. 9. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR PET’S HEALTH AND SAFFETY AND ARE TO PICK UP AFTER YOUR PET. Bring any necessary disposable bags to clean up after your pet. The Police Department, City and NOTO have asked that this be strictly enforced. 10. For your and other pet’s safety and health, make sure your pet has whatever vaccinations are required to include rabies shots as directed by your veterinary. 11. YOU ARE ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR PET’S ACTIONS AND AGREE TO HOLD THE KIWANIS CLUB OF TOPEKA, ITS MEMBERS, OFFICERS AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS HARMLESS FROM ANY ACTION OF YOUR PET IN CONSIDERATION FOR BEING ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PARADE. 12. HORSES and members of the horse family are NOT PERMITTED for this parade. 13. Be sure to dress for the weather. Consideration should be given as to whether a costume for you or your pet will allow you to participate in a comfortable and safe fashion. Bring water and bowls as is necessary for your pet. Remember that asphalt and concrete can become hot and can harm your pet’s feet. 14. EMERGENCY/LOST and FOUND will be at the NOTO Arts and Entertainment District Office located at 935 North Kansas Avenue. 15. Topeka Police will be present and there will be barricades at various locations. Please respect the barricades at all times. 16. Following the parade, return to REDBUD PARK for the prize drawing. 17. Should your pet become ill during the parade or become too warm, we encourage you to take immediate steps to care for your pet.
